Now I mean let's face it, Windows XP in itself was a badass operating system for the time. I remember using it when it first came out and my oh my was I using the hell out of it. Playing 3D Pinball, messing with the theme, and more. And hell you have some funny errors like this:
Not boring crap like Windows 8:
Or Mac:
But let's face it - this thing was supposed to (and should have) ended in 2010, but Microsoft decided to give it 4 more years so people could migrate to a newer operating system. It's 4 years later - people still refused to upgrade. I'm not sure why this is, but for whatever reason people refuse to move on. I've gathered a few reasons why people are so reluctant to upgrade:
1. The wallpapers
Windows Vista had probably one of the shittiest collections of wallpapers Windows has ever had to offer (Scratch that, Windows 95 and 98 had worse), and Windows 7 has nice, but rather boring backgrounds. Windows 8 had maybe one default background (yeah what a piece of shit). But seriously, who could hate this nice background:
2. Their old computers cannot handle Windows 7, Vista or 8
Their computers are so dusty, old, and wheezing that it cannot handle Windows 7 or Vista, or even 8. Well news flash people - it's time to retire that old garbage and buy a new computer. If you think you can't afford it, think again. Right now we can build a cheap ass computer for $275. This can run Windows Vista, 7, and 8, with at least 200 gigabytes of space. Unless you want a gaming computer which will cost $600, but its very unlikely that if your computer cant even handle 7 that you'll be even gaming, so that's out of the ring. But for real guys, if you don't update that 2002 garbage it will just retire itself eventually. It's best just to buy one now before your computer gets raped by vulnerabilities.
3. Time-consumption Now I will give people who are still on XP this - It takes. a. long. ass. time. to. update. I mean when I updated my old computer from Windows XP to Windows 7 it literally took 3 and a half hours. For goodness sakes Microsoft, couldn't you have made this better? It's not because I had a bunch of files either - I backed up ALL of my files and took them off the computer and the upgrade process still took forever. And I wasn't even able to keep all my cool XP backgrounds. Well, I was, but it took like 3 hours to find where the hell they were located. Great job Microsoft!
4. Work/Family computers These people only use Windows XP because their company or family forces them to do so. I won't blame these people as it really isn't their fault.
5. They like the GUI
The Windows XP GUI is the best GUI in Windows, no question. However you people can literally download a theme mod for Windows 7 that turns it into Luna, Olive Luna, Zune, or that old media center theme (Forget which one that was?).
But now, folks, people still using Windows XP; It's time to finally upgrade. I did it. Microsoft is literally begging you to do it. The clock is ticking with 56 days to go. (That's right, 56 days!) It's not that good of an OS anymore anyways - it certainly did its job in 2001, but now we're in 2014, and we do not need this 13 year old operating system anymore. It's time to upgrade, folks. Even if it seems hard to just let it go, you have no choice. It's outdated, buggy, and is going to be vulnerable to just about everything in a matter of 57 days. It's time to upgrade to Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8, or hell even Windows 8.1. I recommend Windows 7 because Windows Vista is a laggy piece of shit but Windows 8 boots the fastest of any Windows. Your choice on that one, if you do have a choice that is. Good luck people, and please do upgrade because this site doesn't work on Internet Explorer 6.
